Are you submitting your 2016 physician quality reporting system (PQRS) data via electronic health record (EHR)? If so, you got a dose of good news -- CMS extended the deadline for EHR-based reporters until March 31.
You have until Dec. 7 to dispute physician quality reporting and value-based modifier pay cuts. As Part B News has reported, the requests should be detailed because this is a provider or practice's only chance to convince CMS to take a second look at its decision. However, a subscriber noted that there is a character limit for the narratives that can be submitted with the requests and asked if there were any work-arounds. As it turns out, there are.
Aaron Cohen, principal and health care co-practice leader at accounting, tax and consulting firm Citrin Cooperman in New York City, talked to Part B News about the merit-based incentive payment system (MIPS) and the "at-your-own-pace" proposal.
The head of CMS promised a final rule by Nov. 1 for the merit-based incentive payment system (MIPS) and said it would allow providers to "pick their pace" of compliance if they so choose.
With everything a physician practice has to keep track of -- the new merit-based incentive payment system (MIPS), ICD-10 code changes, enrollment changes and more -- you might feel overwhelmed. But we've got you covered.
