In the time it takes to make a phone call, you can gain temporary billing privileges during the COVID-19 emergency that will allow your providers to begin treating Medicare patients almost immediately.

 

Citing the COVID-19 crisis, CMS announced some relief for quality reporting and data submission related to the Quality Payment Program (QPP), the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and the Medicare Shared Savings Program Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs).

In an effort to handle the COVID-19 crisis that's showing signs of straining health care resources and supplies, CMS issued a memo to providers instructing them to delay elective surgeries and non-essential medical and dental procedures.

Add another code to your coronavirus testing list. In addition to two available HCPCS codes, you're now eligible to report a new CPT code for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) testing claims.

 
Providers in the U.S. will have a specific ICD-10-CM diagnosis code for the COVID-19 virus beginning April 1.
