Yet a yawning gap in reimbursement levels will confront practices in 2026, depending on whether your providers deliver care in the non-facility or facility setting.
 
 
You’ll find a fresh batch of CPT codes that you can begin reporting on Jan. 1, 2026, with 288 new codes coming online, including two new E/M codes covering remote physiologic monitoring (RPM). The code update, announced with the release of the 2026 CPT Manual, also includes 46 revised code descriptors and 84 deleted codes.
 
 
Members of Congress did not come to a budget agreement before the Oct. 1 start of the fiscal year, and a government shutdown of all but "essential" spending is now in effect. CMS has issued some advice to providers.
