The HHS Office of Inspector General (OIG) has posted a second monthly update to its Work Plan.

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) already told CMS that it found massive meaningful use overpayments among its providers -- but maybe they'll take quicker action on it now that the topic has captured the attention of a couple of U.S. Senators.

Two medical centers in Massachusetts will pay more than $700,000 to settle allegations that they upcoded claims when they failed to follow the rules for new and established patients.
Once upon a time, the HHS Office of Inspector General (OIG) issued an annual Work Plan. More recently, the agency has issued a Work Plan and an update a few months later. On June 15, the OIG announced it will issue monthly updates to its Work Plan to-do list.

Good news: A CMS source tells Part B News that the recent eClinicalWorks (ECW) settlement won't lead to blanket incentive payment takebacks or worse, as some providers had worried.
