MACs to replace MR with TPE

CMS is taking the training wheels off the targeted probe and educate (TPE) progam pilot that it rolled out in May and expanded in June. Effective Oct. 1, your Medicare administrative contractor (MAC) will begin to phase out most forms of medical review and replace them with TPE.

Take time to download - and decipher - the quality and resource use report for your practice's clinicians. That's the only way you'll know whether individual providers or the entire practice will be subject to a pay cut based on their 2016 physician quality reporting system efforts.
