RACs: 46 states down, 4 to go

The Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) for Region A threw its hat into the ring today by releasing three issues for all 12 states in its jurisdiction.

DCS, the Region A RAC, will start by focusing on DME supplies. It will conduct automated review of the following issues:

  • Pharmacy supply and dispensing fees.
  • Wheelchair bundling.
  • Urological bundling.

DCS is the RAC for Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington, D.C.

Currently the only states that aren't under RAC scrutiny are Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio and Wisconsin (CGI, Region B). U.S. territories are Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands (Connolly, Region C) also have not received any issues.
