If the term enterprise identity management (EIDM) doesn't ring a bell, you may not be able to see the quality report cards for your clinicians and your practice when CMS releases them. If you can't see the reports, you could miss your only chance to dispute CMS' decision to apply quality and cost pay cuts against individual clinicians or the entire group in 2018.
It's not easy to decipher or to access the reports, which will be the last released under the physician quality reporting system/value-based modifier programs, especially if a practice has never set up an EIDM account. To help spare practices a last-minute scramble, CMS sent out an email with the subject line "Reminder: Prepare to access 2016 PQRS feedback reports and quality and resource use reports with an EIDM account" Sept. 5 urging practices to get ready.
Prepare now to access the 2016 Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) feedback reports and 2016 Annual Quality and Resource Use Reports (QRURs), which will be available in early fall. The PQRS feedback reports depict your program year 2016 PQRS reporting results, including payment adjustment assessment for calendar year 2018. The 2016 Annual QRURs show how groups and solo practitioners performed in 2016 on the quality and cost measures used to calculate the 2018 Value-Based Payment Modifier (Value Modifier). Both reports will be available this fall.
Prepare now by either signing up for an Enterprise Identity Management (EIDM) account or ensuring that your existing account is active. EIDM accounts are required for participants to obtain 2016 PQRS feedback reports and 2016 Annual QRURs.
You can find information about the
reports and how to access on the agency's 2016 QRUR and 2018 value modifier page.
Watch this space for an alert when the reports are available.
