What has 1,221 entries and ends at 5 p.m., ET today?

If you have something to say about the proposed MIPS/APM rule, you need to act today. The comment period for the rule ends at 5 p.m., ET.

Remember - if you asked a question or made a comment during any of CMS' MIPS education calls, it will not count as comment on the rule.

Not sure what to say? Read PBN's past coverage of the proposed rule (just search for MIPS), check with your specialty or state medical society to see if it has created a form letter that members can submit to the agency, or read comments that have already been submitted, available at the link below.

Since time is short, there are three ways to submit a written comment by today's deadline: online, in person or by express courier:
Electronically. You may submit electronic comments on this regulation to http://www.regulations.gov. Follow the “Submit a comment” instructions.

By hand or courier. Alternatively, you may deliver (by hand or courier) your written comments ONLY to the following addresses prior to the close of the comment period:

a. For delivery in Washington, D.C.—Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Department of Health and Human Services, Room 445-G, Hubert H. Humphrey Building, 200 Independence Avenue SW., Washington, DC 20201.

(Because access to the interior of the Hubert H. Humphrey Building is not readily available to persons without Federal government identification, commenters are encouraged to leave their comments in the CMS drop slots located in the main lobby of the building. A stamp-in clock is available for persons wishing to retain a proof of filing by stamping in and retaining an extra copy of the comments being filed.)

b. For delivery in Baltimore, Md.—Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Department of Health and Human Services, 7500 Security Boulevard, Baltimore, MD 21244-1850.

If you intend to deliver your comments to the Baltimore address, call telephone number (410)-786-7195 in advance to schedule your arrival with one of our staff members. Comments erroneously mailed to the addresses indicated as appropriate for hand or courier delivery may be delayed and received after the comment period.

If you want early, how-to guidance that will help you prepare for the new payment model, you can get it today by ordering our on-demand presention on how MIPS works. To order by phone 1-855-225-5341, and refer to code MPW-A2671-16.
