Review the local coverage determinations (LCDs) for your new Medicare administrative contractor, if your organization will be impacted by the upcoming NGS switch. That’s one tip in a recent Part B News article about pending MAC transitions that will ultimately impact providers in 17 states and territories.

Part A providers in Minnesota will be the first to hit the switch in the latest round of MAC moves. They’ll transition from Noridian to NGS on August 10, while Part B providers in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin have a month before they move from WPS to NGS on Sept. 7.

PBN also warns you to make sure your claims don’t get lost in the shuffle. For more information on how to avoid new MAC hassles, make sure you check the July 1, 2013 issue of PBN.
