Three of the four RACs released targets during the holiday break and the Region C RAC was particularly active. Here are a few targets that will impact Part B claims in Region C: Barium swallow studies (physicians and outpatient hospital claims). In Virginia and West Virginia, the RAC will only review physician claims for this service. Adenosine - Dose vs. Units (outpatient hospital claims) and Medically Unlikely Edits (outpatient hospital claims). The Region C RAC also rolled out more targets for DME suppliers and a host of DRG review targets.
The Region D RAC added unbundling of consolidated SNF billing and two DME targets for all of the states in its jurisdiction.
The Region A RAC added six DME targets for its region including targets related to walkers, wheelchairs and prosthetics.
