RACs target urological & wheelchair supplies in 17 more states

by Julia Kyles on Oct 8, 2009

Claims for urological and wheelchair supplies in RAC region D are now open to scrutiny. HDI, the RAC for 17 western states and three territories, added these two targets to its list of approved RAC targets today. (Note, when you get to HDI's list of issues, scroll down. HDI is adding new targets to the end of its list.) The RAC will make sure providers didn't unbundle claims for these supplies.

You can thank criminals who made DME supplies the keystone of their get rich quick schemes for all the extra attention. Law enforcement agents have been fighting DME fraud for years and RACs are stepping up to do their part. The RACs for Region C (Connolly) and Region A (DCS) have targeted these issues in all of their states, for a grand total of 44 states.

Remember: You can keep an eye on what all of the RACs are up to with Part B News' RAC Target Alerts. We update it every time RACs release new targets, and you can link directly to the guidance RACs will use to weigh your claims.
