More audit targets have been released by a Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) - specifically, two DME issues by Connolly Healthcare, the Region C RAC. A total of 15 states are affected (see below). Our Part B News online RAC Target Alerts have been updated to reflect the two new targets.
The two new target issues are:
- Wheelchair bundling: bundling guidelines for wheelchair bases and options/accessories indicate certain procedure codes are part of other procedure codes and, as a result, are not separately payable.
- Urological bundling: certain procedure codes are bundled into other codes and are not separately payable.
Region C covers the lower Southern half of the country and includes: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
