CMS posts wrong data of CCI version 15.2 for physicians

by Grant Huang on Jul 7, 2009

Image from www.cms.hhs.govNewsflash: CMS has made a small error. If you downloaded version 15.2 of the National Correct Coding Initiative (CCI) Edits for physicians either yesterday (July 6) or before 10 a.m. EST today, you've got the wrong file.

The agency posted the wrong data but has now corrected the error. If you were unlucky enough to have snagged the CCI data in the affected timeframe, you should delete what you downloaded and get the correct files by visiting http://www.cms.hhs.gov/NationalCorrectCodInitEd/NCCIEP/list.asp.

CCI version 15.2 mostly affected anesthesia codes and is effective from July 1 to Sept. 30, 2009. You can read Part B News' previous coverage of changes in CCI version 15.2 by clicking here.
