You can expect to see six new remote physiologic monitoring (RPM) codes in the CPT Manual, along with revisions to 10 currently active RPM services and the RPM service guidelines -- but not until 2026.
Following a September 2024 meeting, the CPT Editorial Panel announced its decisions affecting the RPM section of the code set in the release of
the summary of panel actions. Currently, the six new codes are in placeholder status. According to the editorial panel summary, the new codes will cover:
- Remote physiologic monitoring device supply code (99XX4).
- Remote physiologic monitoring treatment management services code (99XX5).
- Respiratory, musculoskeletal and cognitive behavioral therapy codes (98XX4, 98XX5, 98XX6).
- Remote therapeutic monitoring treatment management services (98XX7).
The currently active RPM services that are on track to take revisions, the nature of which remain unclear, will include the following codes and their current descriptors:

In the same summary of panel actions, the CPT Editorial Panel withdrew its prior proposals to revise interprofessional consult codes and transitional care management services and indefinitely postponed making any revisions to the reporting criteria for modifiers 25 and 57.
