Update your bookmarks: CMS upgrade may have broken some links

by Julia Kyles, CPC on Sep 13, 2022
In case you missed it, CMS has slowly been updating its website. The changes look great, but last week’s makeover of the National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) section may contain broken links. For example, this link used to go to the Medicare’s NCCI manual https://www.cms.gov/Medicare/Coding/NationalCorrectCodInitEd/index.html?redirect=/nationalcorrectcodinited/. Now it goes to an error page.

A second change that may break your links is the relocation of the quarterly procedure-to-procedure (PTP) and medically unlikely edit (MUE) version update changes. CMS is not updating the page that used to host the handy lists of quarterly additions, deletions and revisions at this link: www.cms.gov/Medicare/Coding/NationalCorrectCodInitEd/Version_Update_Changes. You’ll find links to the quarterly update files with the complete files for the matching edit set.
