beat its deadline for issuing a revised value file for the 2016 physician fee schedule, but we've unearthed one surprise in the new file – a .02 cent cut to the national conversion factor. It drops from $35.8279 to $35.8043.
Anesthesia providers have a separate conversion factor, but most weren't spared a cut that averages out to .19 cents.
Perhaps CMS misses the good old days of fluctuating conversion factors, that were ushered out by the SGR repeal.
