Help get rid of burdensome federal regulations

by Charles Fiegl on Feb 10, 2011

Politicians from President Barack Obama to House Republicans want to get rid of burdensome federal regulations. Eliminating regs (including rules on salmon and red meat) is a juicy topic in Washington.

Lawmakers have solicited input from various stakeholders and groups. The AMA has responded by creating a new survey to funnel physician input on how federal rules impact their practices.

“Paperwork and administrative burdens already take up a significant amount of a physician’s time - time that could be better spent with patients,” says AMA President Cecil B. Wilson, MD. “The results of this survey will help the AMA identify which federal rules and regulations create the most burden for physicians without providing positive benefits for patients.”

The survey is available on the AMA's website at www.ama-assn.org/go/regrelief.
