On Tuesday, the company debuted fries with a coating designed to be less porous and absorb less oil, thus reducing fat by 40 percent and calories by 30 percent over McDonald’s fries, according to BusinessWeek.

Burger King’s regular fries are 410 calories and have 18 grams of fat. Satisfries, by comparison, have 340 calories and 14 grams of fat.

McCain foods developed the product over the course of two years, BusinessWeek reported.

Unfortunately for customers, the price might be a little hard to swallow – Satisfries will cost 20 to 30 cents more than regular fries. For more information on heart health, see the Cardiology Coder’s Pink Sheet.
