Details of an EHR vendor's settlement may leave you feeling like it's Groundhog Day.
More small practices can quality for exclusions from the Quality Payment Program (QPP), claim hardship exceptions from electronic health record (EHR) requirements or earn automatic bonus points if the proposed QPP rule released June 20 is finalized.

Good news: A CMS source tells Part B News that the recent eClinicalWorks (ECW) settlement won't lead to blanket incentive payment takebacks or worse, as some providers had worried.

Providers who use eClinicalWorks and thought something was a bit off about the electronic health record's (EHR's) performance may feel vindicated by this news: The EHR vendor will pay $155 million and enter a corporate integrity agreement to settle a number of allegations, including that for several years it had lied about the platform’s capabilities so it could receive meaningful use certification.
Are you submitting your 2016 physician quality reporting system (PQRS) data via electronic health record (EHR)? If so, you got a dose of good news -- CMS extended the deadline for EHR-based reporters until March 31.
