More time for PQRS informal review requests

by Karen Long on Nov 23, 2015
CMS extended the deadline for submitting a request to review your physician quality reporting system (PQRS) pay cut until Dec. 11.

The previous deadline was Nov. 23 to ask CMS to review what you believe to be an erroneous "payment adjustment determination," the federal agency states in a Nov. 20 email.

Notably, some providers have had trouble accessing their quality resources and use reports (QRURs).

Providers must submit their review requests through the Quality Reporting Communication Support Page by 11:59 EST Dec. 11.

The informal review consists of CMS reviewing providers' data to see whether corrections could wipe out the 2% penalty. That penalty, based on 2014 PQRS data, would be applied to 2016 payments.

Part B News recently wrote about instructions on how to apply for the informal review. See the Sept. 21 issue for more.
